Not sure if this is the best place to ask this, but it's fairly simple.

Got headings defined, with outline numbering. When I hit Enter, I'd like the Heading to be applied on the next line. If I hit Enter again on that line, the style should default to either Body Text or Normal.

First line would be 1.0 Title. Hit an enter and the next line would be 2.0 Title. If I hit tab, then it should go to Heading 2 (e.g., 2.1). Another Enter on the second line moves the style to a text one.

I use both Word 2003 and 2007, but for the life of me, can't remember where to turn this function on.

Thanks,
Mike

There are two things to do.

First, in Outline Numbering, click the More button to link the level to the style. So you would link 1 to a style, then 1.1 to the next level style, etc..

Once you have the numbering linked to the style, go to Modify Style for that style. Set the style for the next paragraph to the same style. That will assign the style whenever you hit Enter.

As long as you have set your Options to adjust the level with the Tab or Shift-Tab, it should continue to apply the outline numbered styles you established.
