Error when a file is opened in Excel by the toolbar icon

I met a very strange error. On a netbook with windows XP Home edition (installed by vendor) I installed Office 10(XP) Pro. When I open a file in Excel by a command from the menu it works just fine but when I try to open a file by pressing the toolbar icon I receive an error in module msvcrt.dll and Excel closes and opens again recovering fhe file. Then it works . The same Office package works fine on my desktop with Windows XP pro. I reinstalled the Office twice but the problem is still there. Hera is the error signature
