Is it possible to embed fonts in a Word 2003 template so that the resulting
document will copy them over and embed them?

In Word 2003, Tools>Options>Save includes a checkbox to Embed TrueType
Fonts, but be aware that the *entirety* [all glyphs] of any font used in
the template wil be embedded --> large file size. Just keep in mind that not
all fonts can be embedded & that most of the newer fonts aren't TTs.

So will the embedded fonts get transferred and embedded into any documents
created from the template?

And I neglected to mention that there is a checkbox to embed only characters
used, which reduces file size but also can cause problems for doc where
additional characters (beyond what were actually used in the template) need
to be typed into the new docs.

This thread is a couple of years old, but I hope that you will answer.

I have been unable to have the embedded font in a Letterhead Template (.dot) transfer to a file created from the template.

Both the template and the new document have "Embed Truetype Fonts", |Embed Characters in Use Only" and "Do Not Embed Common System Fonts" checked. However on a computer which does not have the unusual font installed (the name of the organization is in the Bavard font), the organization's name is Arial.

I would much appreciate being sent a template which does pass on its embedded fonts being emailed to me at deadend.mel.TakeThisOut@gmail.com. Alternatively, I can emial my template for debugging. This site does not appear to have the ability to attach a file.

With much thanks in advance.
