Hi (have posteed this to ms.p.w.s-g so apologies if you have already
read it)

Have tried 'googling' but not found any assistance with this.

I would like to disable the list of suggestions provided when right
clicking on an underlined word, is it possible to do this? I did try
unchecking "always suggest corrections" but this only seems to affect
the dialogue invoked by pressing F7 (or similar actions).

Many thanks for your time

I don't believe it is possible to do what you want. The "always suggest
corrections" options is a historical remnant of when the only spell checking
was foreground (f7 dialog) and there was a suggest button in the dialog box.

If you can give me a reason why we might want to support this scenario, I
can keep in mind for future versions.

[hope the above quotes OK - haven't found a way to do it in Google
groups yet Surprised( ]

Hi Doug

Many thanks for the reply. The issue that has arisen is in a
colleague's school for students with physical disabilities. A couple of
students have very major spelling difficulties and, when a word is
red-underlined, they just bring up the context menu and take the top
choice irrespective. Unfortunately their spelling is so poor the top
option is seldom the correct spelling. My colleague would like to be
able to turn off the option so that the students are forced to think
about the spelling and reattempt, seeing whether it is underlined
again.

I doubt that this is motivation enough for a wish-list. I think I will
try to get my colleague to turn off S & G auto checking and then use
F7/shift-F7 after. This has other advantages in allowing the student
to focus on the flow and then deal with style and spelling after.

Many thanks for saving me time hunting for the way to do this.

regards

Stuart
