Hi!
(Using Word XP, soon 2003) I wonder if there is a way to make Word use only
one's own customized autocorrect file instead of the default one.
Alternatively choose between the two.
At present I have a macro to do simple search and replace which works fine,
but now I wish to be able to import an autocorrect file to manipulate larger
files.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

You can copy an AutoCorrect file from one computer to incorporate into that
used on another. See http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm for
step-by-step instructions on moving / sharing / copying / backing-up
customizations including AutoText, AutoCorrect, keyboard assignments,
toolbars, macros, etc.

Thanks Charles for your help, Dave Rado's AutoCorrect.zip was just great! Is
there any way to choose between the default and customized files in an easy
fashion without having to import/export?
Thanks

No, there is only one AutoCorrect file active at a time and it can only be
installed or deleted. You can, though, edit the tables created by the
utility.
