I have looked in the forums here and have not seen this answer, or if i did i didn't realize it. This question is for Microsoft Word 2003.

My suitation is when i go into format in the forms text form field options i do not see an option for currency, ie so it would show say 15.00 as $15.00 as i am using this on a simple purchase order form.

is there a way for me to format the text so i do not have to type in the dollar sign before every amount.

thank you.

In the "Text Form Field Options" box (where you will first go to specify the "type" of text form field you want), the second row has a box labeled "Number Format". From that, you can choose how you want your number to display. The last, or next to last option is "$#,##0.00;($#,##0.0)". Choose this option, even if you are working with very small numbers, as it will not only add your currency symbol, but will also automatically add the comma to the correct place in the event that you have entries in the thousands of dollars.

Thank you so much for the replay. I kept looking for a currency tab and just kept skipping over number in the format area.

I appreciate the response.

Not a problem. You can also enter a custom format in that box, as long as you stick with the same listing conventions, ex. 0.000 or #,##0.000.
