Archived from groups: microsoft>public>word>docmanagement (more info?)

When I try to insert a cross reference to a heading, it inserts 3 dots. What
is causing this error? The headings are formatted in the Word document.

Which version of Word are you using?

Are you cross-referencing heading text or the heading number?
