Archived from groups: microsoft>public>excel>crashesgpfs (more info?)

When copying one cell containing conditioanal formatting incorporating
Relative Reference - the relative references in the new cells are not
updated.

I.e. C1 with reference in conditional format '=$C1'
when copied to C2, the relative reference is updated to '=$C2'
However, when copied to a range. i.e. C3:C4, the relative reference in both
C3 and C4 will contain =$C3 while the applies to field is updated to indicate
the rule will apply to $C$3:$C$4
