Changing the default language for spelling

Hello, we have recently purchased the Microsoft Office Student and Teacher
Edition 2003. A major problem that is recurring is when i go on Microsoft
Word the default language is set to Welsh. Everytime i change the default
language to English UK, after about 5 seconds, it will automatically change
back to Welsh. This is becoming a problem, because as i type out documents on
word it will not check the spelling for them, because it doesn't detect the
English Language!! So i don't know if there are any spelling errors that
aren't being detected. When i click on check spelling it says "Cannot find
proofing tools for welsh" but i do not want it to be in welsh any way!! Could
you help me in solving this?
