Hi, my Word (2003) has an auto spelling check turned on. This is fine
enough, but it is using American English spelling while I prefer British
English spelling (eg. intialise instead of initialize, and many other
relatively minor examples).

Is it possible to change this in Word so it uses British English spelling?

Thanks,
Peter

Sure, but I think it's rude to answer like this and not give the answer.
If the poster knew, he would not ask.

FWIW, the original poster answered himself Smile

Yes, sorry about that. I had hunted long and hard for a method of changing
the spell checker, but it wasn't until shortly after posting the question
that I actually found out how to do it.

Word menu
Tools->Language->Set Language
was what I used.

I honestly was not trying to be rude when I answered myself!

Hi Peter,

You weren't, not really Smile It was a difference in
perceptions... But I'm sure that others looking for help with
the problem will appreciate your having posted the answer, now
Smile
