I have a workbook named Template.xls with a formula in a cell:
='C:\Data\[Data.xls]Data'!$B$1
While Template.xls is closed, the data in 'C:\Data\[Data.xls]Data'!$B$1
changes
I open Template.xls and the cell has NOT updated.
Isn't there a way to automatically refresh formulas on start up? |

Your Excel formula link is not a "remote reference" but an "external
link". What happens on opening the workbook depends on the version of
Excel you are using - please advise.
In Excel 2003, look for the Edit > Links > Startup Prompt setting.
Change it if necessary to "Let users decide whether to display the
alert or not".
