The only thing I can suggest to you is to make sure that you're checking "Microsoft Outlook 11.0 Object Library" and not "Microsoft Office 11.0 Object Library." I had to look at these options a few times before I realized there were two different ones.

Hi Jeni

Thanks. Wink I am using Windows 2002 and I can not find version 11. I have checked Microsoft Outlook 10.0 object. It seems that it wont do?

I believe that version number is referencing the Office application, not the operating system (Windows). What version of Office are you running? I use Microsoft Office 2007, which is version 12, so I have to make sure that the MS Outlook 12.0 Object Library is available. Version 11 is called MS Office 2003, I think.

If by Windows 2002 you meant Office 2002, then you'll be finding the Outlook 10.0 object, as you've explained. So it sounds like you've checked what you needed to check. There's no reason that the version should not work, I wouldn't think.

My problem was that I had checked and double-checked but I kept enabling the "Office" option, not the "Outlook" option.

Hi Jeni

Many thanks. It seems to have worked. Now I am trying to test it. I am trying to use the directory which I created with email and file to see if it works. Many thanks. Very Happy

Lamozy,
It's very complicated. I would go over the steps at this site again:
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/MailMerge/MergeWithAttachments.htm
and follow them word-for-word, without skipping any steps or making any assumptions.

How were you able to solve the problem in the VB editor, by the way?

Hi

I have been through the instruction at least a dozen times and have done everything right, (methink). I am trying to convert it to HTML. I need to send a word document and I have done everything but it just wont do what it is supposed to.
I went back to the right version and it worked. Many thanks for your help. Did you have to do anything extra on top of what is in the instructions. Regards Smile

Not that I recall, though it's been a bit since I've done it Is HTML the simplest approach? If not, I'd suggest taking the simplest approach first and then expanding.

Good luck!

Hi

I have finally managed to send an attachment with the mail merge. Many many many thanks to evryone on this forum. I do have a minor problem though. When I add additional text to go into the body of the email, it looks strange as it does not break into paragraphs. I think that I need to add some delimiters. Can anyone help please. It is the last step and I will be very grateful. Very Happy

I had the same problem. But as Jenni said, you need to folloew the instruction to the T. They look quite complicated but I made my own notes based on the instruction and finally it worked. Right version of the word is essential. The instructions work but you have to go through them over and over again. Laughing

This little tool works great and you still use Outlook to compose your message and attachments. And much simpler.....

I think that the basic merge doesn't allow HTML formatting in the mail messages, but I'm not sure, you'd have to check that out. It sounds like you might be using stationery and I'd bet there is even less of a chance that that is supported.

Good luck!

PostPosted: Mon May 18, 2009 2:18 pm    Post subject: I've tried, and tried, and tried!

To all,

I've been at this for days now, and I've only sent an email with an attachment once! I send an email, either with a table added to the bottom of my form letter, or without the table, but even then, it only sends an email about half the time I try!

I don't get a message asking me to approve any emails sent, ever, and the pop up at the end always says "0 emails sent", even when it sends an email!

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Dan
