I saw it on Saturday afternoon in an audience of about 20 people. I
think it has some good ideas, but the screenplay seemed like a first
draft - it just isn't funny often enough and has too many scenes that
Allen, Christina Ricci, and Stockard Channing were all fine.
I was skeptical when I first learned of Jason Biggs's casting,and I'm
sorry to say, my doubts were justified. In my opinion, he's just far
too bland to carry off this kind of central role. The film would have
benefited greatly from a much more interesting actor (i.e. John
Cusack, or ideally, the young Woody Allen.)
Overall, I'd say it's an improvement on "Hollywood Ending" but below
"Jade Scorpion" and "Small Time Crooks".
