1903: GERTRUDE SUTTON, who played a servant girl in "Son of Kong", is
born in Butte, Mont.


1907: NATHAN JURAN, who directed "20 Million Miles to Earth" and "The
Deadly Mantis", is born near Graz, Austria. He also directed "Attack
of the 50-Foot Woman" and "The Golden Voyage of Sinbad", and won an
Academy Award for art direction for "How Green Was My Valley".


1911: JUN USAMI, who played Dr. Yamaguchi in "The Vampire Doll", is
born in Iwate, Japan.


1920: RICHARD FARNSWORTH, who did stunts on "Mighty Joe Young", is
born in Los Angeles. The former stuntman moved to acting with "Comes a
Horseman", "The Grey Fox", "The Natural", "The Getaway", and "The
Straight Story".


1929: TOMISABURO WAKAYAMA, who played Ulrov in "ESPY", is born Masaru
Okumura in Tokyo. The brother of Shintaro Katsu, he is best known for
his role in the "Lone Wolf and Cub" series.


1950: "Mighty Joe Young" is released in West Germany.


1958: "Tarantula" is released in Denmark.



1967: SHIGEYUKI NAKAMURA, who played Yoshino in “Ringu: Kanzen-ban”,
is born.


1968: Episode 48 of "Ultra Seven", "The Greatest Invasion Ever Planned
-- Part 1" (a.k.a. "Exit Ultra 7 -- Part 1"), debuts on Japanese TV.


1971: DAVE WITTENBERG, who was the U.S. dubbing voice of Jiro/Kikaider
on "Kikaider: The Animation" and Gondo on "Alive", is born in
Johannesburg, South Africa.


1972: Episode 22 of "Ultraman Ace", "Avenging Demon Yapool", debuts on
Japanese TV.
Episode 22 of "Transforming Ninja Arashi" debuts on Japanese TV.


1973: Episode 29 of "Kamen Rider V3", "Doktor G's Final Challenge!",
debuts on Japanese TV.

Episode 21 of “Storm Cloud Lion Maru” debuts on Japanese TV.


1975: Episode 21 of "Condorman -- Symbol of Justice" debuts on
Japanese TV.


1979: Episode 31 of "Battle Fever J", “Supersonic Siblings”, debuts on
Japanese TV.



1981: CHISATO MORISHITA, who was in “Mail”, is born in Aichi, Japan.


1995: Episode 27 of "Superpower Squadron Ohranger", "King's Gallant
Entrance", debuts on Japanese TV.


2001: "Son of "Godzilla" is released on DVD in Germany.
CHAD SCHUERMEYER, who played the boom operator in the U.S.
version of "One Missed Call", is born in Greenville, S.C.


2002: SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR, who played Karen Davis in "The Grudge"
and "The Grudge 2", marries Freddie Prinze Jr..
JOHN BLYTH BARRYMORE, who played Avery in “Solar Crisis”, divorces
Rebecca Pogrow.

2004: Episode 22 of "Ultra Q: Dark Fantasy", "Kanegoneh's Shining
Road", debuts on TV Tokyo.

2005: "Kwaidan" premieres in the Philippines at the Manila Eiga Sai
film festival.

2006: KYUZO KOBAYASHI, who co-wrote "Goke, Bodysnatcher from Hell",
dies from a cerebral infarction in Yokohama.
"Yog -- Monster from Space" is released on Region 2 DVD.
