Sounds like someone's looking to get a copy of the 1990 John
Schlesinger film, 'Pacific Heights' (starring Melanie Griffith and
Matthew Modine).
I don't have it myself but wouldn't mind having it, seeing as how it
is indeed quite a Hitchcockian thriller (unassuming and charming
lodger suddenly starts acting very suspiciously). IIRC, the film is
set in San Francisco, is decent enough and features a minor
performance by Tippi herself, as well as a blink-and-you've-missed-it
cameo by the director.
