I just got a hand-me-down LCD projector, an Epson EMP-5100 but the right side
of the image looks 'mis-aligned'. here's a quick photo of the image:

Can this be fixed by a simple bulb change or is it something worse/more
expensive?

I don't have a spare bulb and don't want to find out after spending $800 that
i need to spend more money to repair it when I could just spend the money on a
new projector.

I had a look at the menu but all it has for video settings are brightness,
contrast and saturation. Its an simple, old projector but its all I need for
the xbox Smile

TIA

Well, being able to view the picture would help.

"HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden" error when you try to access the page. Sad

Cheers,

Okay, the alternate way of viewing the pic worked.

Looks like one or more of the LCD panels has become misaligned or one or
more of the mirrors. It depends on how the three panels are converged
within the projector. Yes, it's fixable. Unlikely to need any parts
replaced unless something has broken which is contributing to the
misalignment. At a guess, a labour job only. I doubt if changing the bulb
would make any difference. Did the projector get dropped or handled a bit
roughly at some stage?

Cheers,
Alan

most definetely. it used to live at a high school and get moved from
room-to-room using a trolley. the troley had hard wheels so any vibrations
from the rough ground would have shook the projector.

i had a quick look inside but unfortunetly i couldn't find easy access to the
mirrors. thanks for your help, i now know what i'll need done.
