I've read from different sources about long-time Chaplin actor John
Rand's role in MODERN TIMES. The Robinson book, and countless others,
credit him as a "convict". The filmography in the Jeffrey Vance book
credits him as a "waiter".
Can anyone tell me which role he played for certain, and specifically
which scene/shot he appears in? For some reason I've had trouble
identifying him by watching the film.
