This is an infectious video, thanks to the edgy and expansive techno
soundtrack by French electronica group Scratch Massive. Without such a music
track, the video - shot by Zoe Cassavetes, film-making daughter of director
John Cassavetes and actress Gena Rowlands - would just be dismissed as yet
more anodyne and bland soft-xxxx. Yet the soundtrack succeeds in
transforming the sensual images and achieving something approaching what
Kubrick (not to mention Rainer Werner Fassbinder before that in his final
films) did visually in Eyes Wide Shut, creating a tense, icy eroticism
irresistibly caught between leering seduction and ominous danger. Great
stuff, and light years away from Zoe Cassavetes' chick rom-com goo flick,
Broken English ...
