No need for the cuisinart. Just sit and observe the mind and let the
thoughts pass. Neither be repulsed or atracted to anything that passes
by, Center your mind.
It helps to staop eating for a week or two or three as well.

As you practice that you will get better at it and learn where the
thoughts come from--but don't "think " about that.

People get enslaved by thoughts. Unconsciously they know this. That
is why people like to listen to music or watch movies, because it
helps them center their mind in a general way. Anything that focuses
the mind is a stage of meditation training.

Historically, there are many methods of trying to stop the mind.
There are lesser methods and the best method.

What happens is intellectual-type people analyze, which itself
produces more distinctions, and more pitfalls. Non-intellectuals have
endless desires that cloud the mind during any attempt to meditate.
Some try to do it by stressing emptiness, this ends up backfiring
because it ends up producing a bottomless pit of reflections like
bailing out a sinking boat.

You can find methods of meditation that focus on breath, some on
their naval, stop on their forehead, some on the tip of their nose.
These are all lesser methods. They help learning the principle, but
still fall short.

Getting stuck between extremes and flipflopping back and forth between
one extreme and the other, is common. Analyzing each extreme just
produces more halls of mirrors. It's called samsara, illusion,
desire, restless mind, floating mind, distracted mind etc.

The goal is to see what it is all about. The way to do this is to
succeed in stopping the mind at least long enough to trigger the event
of samadhi. Samadhi however has stages too. people get hung up on a
stage, thinking they have seen it all and then fall back. So there is
what is called the "stage of non-retrogrssion."

Most people have no idea that there is a natural mechanism of direct
experience of ultimate reality. Many people are so hung up on dogma
or one kind or another they make for themselves a circular system that
blocks the direct experience.

It's really basic and generic, but people have trouble being that
objective.

There are people who try to capitalize on teaching methods of stopping
the mind and are ultimately shaming themselves by setting up guru
shops.

One has to gain a pure motivation and a pure devotion to the cosmic
law of life and death. Any group efforts in this area can easily fall
into habit and money scams and group brainwashing for profit. It can
lead to social and religious hierarchies that , with the passing of
time lose their prime point and forget their origin in practice.

it is very basic that as more and more people see their true nature
and the nature of reality as it is, the more the world will become
peaceful and in tune with the law of life and death.. Idealism itself
never works. Politics never works. Group manipulations never work.

The impulse to help others has to be pure and entirely based in
practice and compassion.

The money pitfall with organized religions, helping professions,
gurus, political movements etc. is mammoth. All that effort seeking
self profit, book sales, alms-seeking,, vying for converts, etc.is a
shame and a disgrace.

Any group effort has to be entirely pure.

The mind is the brain operating, via messaging between neurons.

You stop the mind by being dead.

When the mind is operating, it does so by meme activation, aka
thoughts. It has stored a lifetime of experience.

We have the ability to transfer memes to others via language.
Currently, around the entire globe.

The sheer number of memes created so far coupled with our ability to
link to other people ensures a world which is almost infinitely
complex and getting more so all the time.

Those are my beliefs. Now you may reiterate yours and declare them to
be the absolute truth.

Even with death the mind doesn't stop. If a mind is weak in life it
will be weak in death.

One can learn to stop the mind before they die and in essense can
learn what "dying" is in a sort of non-detructive testing sort of
way..

Thats what the basis of the most generic yoga/meditation is.

it's quite amazing when it occurs. But you will remeber having done
this literally infinite times before and feel stupid you forgot.

For thousand of years what you are talking about is called the "alaya-
consciousness" also called the 8th consciousness but there is also the
9th consciousness which is fundamental and not illusory like the 8th.
In slang the 8th consciousness is called the karma storage.

There is nothing particualry profound about this. It is temporal
reality.

Never gets "more complex" it just seems like it in a temporal
reality. It nothing but reverberations that fade out.

I would rather you explore the pratice of stopping the mind. Find out
for yourself.

Beliefs, concepts etc. are transient. If a mind becomes fixed on
various concepts such as these you mention, it prevents breaking out
of the illusion.

Main thing is absolute proof. Absolute proof is undeniable.

This is ephemeral.

The true aspect of reality is timeless and not transient.

"Become the master of your mind rather then let your mind master you."
