Hello,
I need a Harness to use with my Cantar + some wireless.
What can be the most confortable harness for big weight?
I've read the Portabrace don't like to some people...
Any advice is well apreciated,
Thanks

Hi Fabian!
I really like my Portabrace AH-3H...it was the most comfortable to my
frame. I carry about 25 lbs when fully loaded.

I have the versaflex harness, used very little but was quite
comfortable. i am not a great big fan of wearing a harness and
carrying around many kilograms of stuff on my back... Yet, when I have
to carry stuff around, I prefer using the harness than just the
shoulder bag.

I preffer lighter harnesses that I can use in the summer too.
I use the old PortaBrace one and I love it. Weights nothing and it's
very flexible.
I carry a Deva V, two Li-Ion NP1s, two Lectro 411, timecode TX and a
light wireless tx and it's OK.
But the Deva is much lighter than the Cantar so I'd use maybe a medium
one like the new ones from PortaBrace wich have a link from harness to
belt.
Others might preffer the Versaflex but it was pressing the sides of my
neck (I'm not a big guy)
It can hold more weight but it's also heavier.
I still have mine new for sale if someone is interested. It's a medium
size (model before they made different sizes) I'm in Spain. |

This weekend we shoot a 2 day test, and a friend of mine is going to
give his big petrol harness to test it.
I have a little Kata harnesss but it's for light 3 channel mixer +
some TX-RX.
Thanks for your advice,
Fabian.

I made my own bag, with a custom made thick & soft waist band, and
took a simple portabrace shoulder piece.
I replaced all metal parts for carbon, and the only online vague pic
i have right now is here
http://www.deherrieboerderij.nl/fotoboek/Fotoboek.php?view=pic&map=ste...n&img=2
That was a one shot location on a portable day, in the middle of
lovely Africa.

Nice picture, are the beyer headphones still pressing?
I like the bag cause it seems little.
This weekend a friend of me gives me his petrol harness to test it and
it was fine.

DT48 rule bigtime. But that's a subjective POV, and my skull is still
in a normal shape. And i also am not interested in whatever discussion
about it

Yep, that was the reason for making my own. I dislike these petrol
boxes, therefore i prefer some precise designed piece.
And what's better then your own
