I finally saw Scoop and I liked it way better than anything else from this
period. This period for me started with Deconstructing Harry.
Scarlett Johanssen, whom I usually call "competent" was very good! She was
doing a Woody role and it was interesting to see himself bounce off of
himself, as it were.
Also, this had something that no other Woody Allen film has had (that I can
think of.) It was suspenseful.
An entertaining light romp. Or maybe my expectations were low!

Glad you liked it! I think it's one of his best, especially coming so
late in his career. Johanssen was a fantastic comedic partner for
him, second only to Keaton, imo, and lightyears better than that drip
Farrow Smile. Who knew Scarlett could do such great NYC schtick?

Early in this newsgroup about 10 years ago, I posted my favorite WA
films, and want to update it with a couple from the 00s (or aughts?):

What's Up Tiger Lily?
Take the Money and Run
Sleeper
Love and Death
Annie Hall
Manhattan
Stardust Memories
Radio Days
Husbands and Wives
Deconstructing Harry
The Curse of the Jade Scorpion
Anything Else
