I have appx 10 servers with RedHat Enterprise 3.0 update4 and I need
to upgrade them to update8, those servers don't have access to the
net, can anyone tell me the steps or how to execute this update...
Thanks!

Ok Thanks, I have one last question, when you say the ISO image, is it
the ISO image of the update8 ONLY or it's the ISO of the RedhatUpdate8
installation (4 ISO)

Thanks!

Hindle,

You can download the iso images to a central ftp server and put the
rpm's there in an anonymous ftp-tree, and update with:

rpm -Uvh ftp://servername/ftp-directoryname/*.rpm

Other posibility is the put the iso images on a nfs share and use:

mount nfs:/iso-dir /mountpoint-for-iso-share
redhat-config-packages --iso-dir=/mountpoint-for-iso-share
umount /mountpoint-for-iso-share

Good luck,

Hindle,

The RHN RHEL4 update ISO's.
rpm -Uvh ftp://servername/ftp-directoryname/*.rpm

will find out itself what to update.

So will the nfs/redhat config option

Other alternative is

mount nfs:/iso-dir /mountpoint-for-iso-share
rpm -Uvh /mountpoint-for-iso-share
umount /mountpoint-for-iso-share

Best regards,

Jan Gerrit
