The crapware uses a red X icon to delete files, and an identical red X
to decrement the day/time settings.

That is just *absurd*. It is an example of where having one icon mean two
such different things is clearly *wrong*.

"DFS" can't look at simple obvious GUI and tell
whether he is changing time or deleting file.

So sad.

He is a moron, so he blames Linux and calls it "crapware".

Too bad he has crap-brain.

We're looking at a genuine bug here though. The icon used in th
day/time settings window is clearly incorrect.

It certainly appears to be a bug... but how did it get by the
development team then? That one has me stymied.
I think that the development team needs go back and do a sanity check on
their own work before releasing it like this.

Indeed, it is two completely different contexts.

Still, I'd use '-' rather than 'x' to denote a decrement function.

You want a a real example of a crap GUI? Try Word 2010. Unbelievable.

Erm... what is wrong with an up arrow for increment, and a down arrow
for decrement?

It really is.

They use a plus sign to increment an item, and a red X to decrement?

I'm sure the crapware defenders who populate cesspool.of.lying.advocates
will dismiss it, but it shows how amateurish Linux still is.

For that feature, incrementing and decrementing, their should be a system
wide standard which should be followed - unless there is a good reason *not*
to (such as maybe a game which has its own style or where it could, for some
reason, cause some confusion). Consistency throughout the system is
important... when you mix KDE and Gnome and more... and where programs
follow even those standard only poorly you end up with a situation where
productivity *will* be affected, more errors will be made, and efficiency
will be sacrificed.

They claim to have about 30 maintainers and testers.

http://community.linuxmint.com/iso/team

Nobody checked the date/time screen after the "developer" chose the red X?

The dedication and attention to detail is amazing...

Only 30 people maintaining and testing.

That is simply not enough for a modern OS.

According to Creepy and Co thats fine since people are not so stupid as
you think and can "learn" that the delete icon actually means
"decrement" in this case.
