I am using openSuse 11.1 in combination with KDE 4. And I am happy with it.
Lately I have some trouble with it. Its becoming very slow.
Probably I did something wrong. I do not know what went wrong. Most likely
some settings are corrupt?
Is there an easy way to rebuild the installation.
For instance by updating first in Yast under Patterns: Basic system and
Approved system and then the KDE4 Desktop environment and the KDE4
basic system?

Take a look with top which application consumes most CPU time, it may be the
desktop-effects: Sysytemsettings -> Desktop -> Desktop effects. Disable
them, and it should run much faster
