Archived from groups: alt>os>linux>suse (more info?)

Hi All,

I have just started an 'old school' bbs project which is based on
Linux Support for everyone! I am looking for individuals (with any
experience level) to post what ever they know about their Linux
Distribution (or any distro for that matter) on the bbs. The bbs is
organized by group (Linux Distribution), and areas pertaining to that
group.

Note: When you first sign into the board, you will need to create an
account which should only take a couple of
minutes max. Also, you will need to leave a message to me telling me
you want to post as a contributor to the board. I'm running this full-
time, so I will be there to answer your page if you have a
question.please put your messages in appropriate group / area as this
is a community oriented bbs and I think others will enjoy finding
information in the areas they look into. You may also post general
discussion messages as well!

Thank you! I look forward to seeing you on the board, and let's build
a Huge Support Community with no Linux Distribution untouched!

Yeah, that is great as there is way too much concentration of knowledge.
It is much better to spread it out as much as possible.

If people did not recognize it, that was sarcasm.

The only reason for a bbs type is because people have slow connections
and thus are forced to use CLI. Well, Usenet works over CLI. Usenet even
is organized by group and areas pertaining to that group.
Websites can be read with lynx, links, w3m and such.

So unless you can come up with something that realy would be needed, I
am against it.

That is if this is not just spam and a way to get emailadresses from
people and then some sort of access to their machines.

You've noticed that.

at least - I killfile posts from googlegroups.com in a number of
newsgroups just because of spammers like him, so I may have avoided
seeing more of his noise elsewhere.

He did it in alt.os.linux.slackware too, I think he spammed all the
groups with "linux" in the name.

Not quite. These two were hit around 01:10:00 -0700 today.

I suspect he's working his way through all of groups as he finds them,
and he may eventually notice the 17 comp.os.linux.* groups listed in
the Big-Eight list, never mind the hundred or so unofficial groups in
that name sequence. Late news: he has now hit comp.os.linux.*.
