Archived from groups: linux>debian>maint>kde (more info?)

While klaptopdaemon in kubuntu feisty does work properly, kpowersave
doesn't. After resuming, the login mask is displayed, enlarged, rather that
the suspended session.
Ctrl-Alt-Bksp restarts kdm, so that the login mask has the right resolution.
My suspended session is lost however.

In the kdm.log file, i have noticed the enclosed lines.

Any ideas?
What to look for, in the suspend2ram.log file?

Thank you for your help

As you surely know, that do not exclude troubles due to conditions users can
produce by tinkering about their system (xorg misconfiguration, acpi wrong
set up, etc). An help on this regard could be provided by kubuntu or debian
users, as well.

So what is the real reason you are rejecting access to a user? Are you
acting on behalf of a well representative group?

I am sure the debian people are more open than you would say.

I have just noted that you have re-directed private mail from someone to
this public mailing list.

Please, provide the debian community a valid reason of such apparently
dishonest behavior

Yes, and Red Hat users too. Will you be surprised if you got a similar
response in a Red Hat mailinglist?

I'm not very active right now helping in mailing lists or bug reports, but I
promise that when I was, sometimes it's very complex to reproduce a problem
with a bit by bit identical package. If you use a different distribution its
not a different league, it's a different sport.

surely yes, only with less probability to get useful help, due to a little
larger differences between system settings

I am not filing a bug. In that case you are right in requiring the exact
match between system settings.
I am only asking for help by comparing users experiences. From this view,
linux users 'play the same sport'.
