Where do you live and what Linux distribution are you looking for?

As your headers point to bigpond.net.au , then it looks link you are in
aust , the best place to get any linux CDs/DVDs is from an aust web site ,
EverythingLinux .
You will need to pay for the CDs/DVDs , but it's a whole lot better than
trying to download and burn the ISOs.

I have used EverythingLinux on quite a few occasions and I find that they
are quite good and very prompt with their orders.

Hi "c man",
So far I have not heard of any free CD:s other than Ubuntu, unless you
define those included with computer magazines as "free". E.g. "apc" at
around $9.75 usually have at least one Linux distro each month,
sometimes as an iso file, sometimes directly bootable from their DVD.
Their April 2007 edition has open SuSe 10.2 on it. I know that dial-up
is not practicable for downwloading even the approx. 700 MB iso files,
which with my 256kbps slow broadband (in reality approx. 26KB:s/sec)
takes some 8 hrs, which is OK at "offpeak" (2-10am). Some distros (e.g.
Puppy Linux are available for A$ 10 by mail.
Cheers

Look for magazines such as Linux Format, Linux User & Developer and
Linux Magazine. They frequently come with DVD or CD versions of numerous
Linux distros including Mandriva and Suze.
