My Konica Minolta DiMage Xg connects to my Ubuntu 7.04 desktop computer
via USB. Normally I set the camera's "transfer mode" to "data storage"
to download photos and movies from the camera to the computer, but I can
also set it to "remote camera" which the camera's manual says is for
using it as a webcam -- except that I'm not sure what to do next. I
have Ekiga and Skype running, but with the "remote camera" connected and
switched on, neither application recognizes the camera as an AV input.

I've been googling fruitlessly for a few hours. Does anyone reading
this have experience with this kind of setup?
