Archived from groups: opera>linux (more info?)

I use Icedove mail and up until recent upgrades various clicking on a link in
an e-mail would bring up Opera efficiently with the link loaded in ready for
viewing but that's now gone.

Is there a method to restore Opera to that desirable state once more.

You have to look in the Icedove preferences and change the http handler
to opera.

In a root console, run, "update-alternatives --config x-www-browser" (no
quotes), and see if Opera is the default system browser. Changing it to
Opera, if it's not selected already, will make Opera your default
browser on the system.
