Archived from groups: comp>os>linux>development>system (more info?)

Hello, there -

I am currently run into the following issue:

I am generating the code under FC7, gcc, for AMD Athlon 3500+ machine.
The code is using a cmpxchg16b assebly command.

Seems like the code is generated properly.

However, when I am running the code, I am getting the Illegal Instruction
interrupt.

Consequently, I have a list of question:
- is AMD Athlon 3500+ supports cmpxchg16b instructions? ( I failed to find
it over the net);
- is any special flag should be set for gcc in order to generate code?
- is there any information about the above issue? Does anybody run into the
similar issue?

Thanks you in advance for you kind attention to this matter.

Have a great day,
