Hello,
I am having trouble getting my wireless network going in Linux, though
it works fine in Windows. I am using WPA2. When I try configuring
network devices/802.11 wlan I set the essid, set it to managed,
hexadecimal, and then put in a 64-character hexadecimal key. It's
configured to start at boot time but after re-booting - no luck. Can
anyone see what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks,
David |

There is no way it remembers anything unless it is recorded on the hard
disk. I do not know how SUSE sets up the ethernet etc. On
Redhat/Mandriva it is in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-wlan0
( or whatever your wireless device is called -eth1, ath0,....)
Anyway, you have to set up the memory of your system to set it up. I am
sure that suse has an X applet which actually sets up your wireless and
also remebers and asks if you want it to start up on bootup.

What am i missing? WPA2 requires a pass phrase, so why 64?
Have you tried to download and install WICD and use it rather than using
Network Manager?
