| Sometime ago I attempted to setup RAID on my box but apparently FreeBSD
slices aren't 'compatible' with Alpha Linux. Another thing, I wanted to
use 'hardware raid' as opposed to 'software raid'. If anyone has any
ideas please feel free to let me know. I'm even partial to SCSI,
provided its SCSI II 68pin [thats what type of drives I happen to have
on hand]. Will L G [aka DiskMan]

I haven't gotten very far down the hardware RAID road, but I'm hoping to
get there.
I've got a DEC/Compaq branded Mylex DAC960 card (one chip), that is
recognised by the SRM and the kernel.
The problem lies in the fact that I'm going to have to either put the
card in a WinTel box, or re-blow AlohaBIOS onto my LX164, in order to be
able to configure the dratted thing.

now you haven't tried raidtools or anything? Just wondering, it looks
like raid is a mutha on an Alpha... WillieG |

Not at yet, though I may eventually get there. At the moment I'm playing
at duelling SCSI controllers, so will have to cross that hurdle first. |
