Hello,

we have recently ported a tool for software developers from Windows to
Linux (a shared library to create PDF files, including Rich Text,
Charts, 1D/2D Barcodes, etc.).

Because we are new in the area of Linux, we would like to ask how we can
make this tool publicly known to the Linux developer community. Are
there special magazines for developers, software catalogs, or does
anyone know other opportunities?

Thanks in advance!

Regards

Yes! The big one is sourceforge.net and freshmeat.net for announcements but there are many sites; some
specialized by programming language or subject domain. See
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_free_software_project_directories for a list of these.

Is this a commercial or free tool? That will determine where you can
find good place to announce. For example if it is commercial, you could
buy Google ads for keywords like "linux" and "open source". Many places
can be used by both, such as setting up project info on freshmeat.net.
