Released new version of jpcat for recording webcams
http://panteltje.com/panteltje/jpcat/index.html

I mention it here because many times people ask how to interface to their
webcam so they can record from it etc..
This application, jpcat, records from the gspcaxxx driver
and can output in X, and also mjpegtools YUV format, so you
can pipe it to mplayer, xine, ffmpeg for encoding, etc.
It can add time in the display, has a motion detection option,
and allows you to select a frame rate.
On screen time and selectable frame rate make it very suitable for recording
as security camera.

I have noticed in kernel 2.6.30 things have changed a lot, and
uvcvideo is in the kernel I think, so this is for older kernels.
It is purely experimental, and I just updated the code because one of my other webcams dropped
and was killed, so wanted to use one of these...
But the routines are very universal and you can use these as a staring point
for any camera software.

I cannot use the 2.6.30 kernel as my nvidia driver does not want to compile with that
(lame excuse Wink ).
So have fun Smile
