Since I started to use 9.64 this afternoon, I've experienced 5 crashes
without warning, Opera suddenly closed.
Ubuntu 8.10, (Linux 2.6.27-11-generic #1 SMP Thu Jan 29 19:24:39 UTC 2009

Wouldn't it be wise to include a `report bug` link in the help menu?

Incidentally, was your previous (presumably non-crashing) version 9.63
(in which case this is a new bug), or did you upgrade from something
earlier (in which case it could be any number of the bugs that have
popped up lately)?
I've been getting predictable crashes every few days (and I would
believe that it would happen 5 times a day if you used it more than
me) since about 9.61 (drawing errors for a little while, followed by
menus that don't appear anymore, followed by it finally just
freezing), and I was hoping that the "stability fixes" marked in the
changelog were relating to that.

It may be useful to capture a crash log. See

Seems like a good idea to me. Anyway, bug reports are submitted at
https://bugs.opera.com/wizard/

I used inspectr for WinXP, didn't know it existed for Linux. Will give it
a try. Is there a way to automate the process, or do I have to attach
Inspectr every time manually after I started up Opera.
I dunno if Inpectr is taking much system resources, but why isn't Inspectr
included in Opera by default, and make a debugmode for Opera to enable it,
when users experience crashes.
Info can then be send to Opera automatically without the need to use the
bug-wizard.
@Tim, i updated from 9.63. In 9.63 I had quite a lot of stalls, when
opening new pages with F2, which did Opera freeze with CPU 100% at the
dialogue. Haven't seen that in 9.64 yet.
Anyway today seems better then yesterday.

This is being worked on for Opera 10. The latest snapshot includes IIXII in the Windows build, but not yet an upload mechanism.

Another problem. I tried to embed a `open in Opera 10` link in my custom
menu.
I couldn't achieve it.
I have downloaded a Opera 10 targz, unpacked it renamed to
Opera_10. I can start opera 10 with entering the directory and call the sh
script called Opera.
But I can't couldn't get it working from another location, I got a wrapper
error
`The Opera binary is not located at "usr/lib/opera/10.00/opera".
Please modify the wrapper script at "opera_10/opera".`
So i tried to start the binary in opera_10/usr/lib/opera/10.00 which
immediately converted and ruined my existing mail directory for 9.64.
So I had to had to reimport all mail by the wizard (I couldn't think of
another way.), lost all my filters etc. Not really nice.
Why isn't there a dialogue in Beta's to warn for irreversible mail
converting.
I didn't expect the tarball 10 beta to use my existing mail directory for
9.64
In the end the solution was simple. I edited the sh script in Opera_10
directory and insert a line at the top `cd /home/user/opera_10/` Now i
could start Opera Beta from every location.
This was the second time a Opera beta ruined my existing mail. First time
was by installing a deb version.
I would like a dialogue and cancel escape route.
Thx Jan,
