I'm running Knoppix from the CD and I only have one CD drive.
Does anyone know how I could make a bootable CD for another
purpose without installing Knoppix to the hard drive? The
information in Kyle Rankin's "Knoppix Hacks" is otherwise very
useful.

If you have a writable partition (fat32) on the hard drive, or a USB
drive of sufficient capacity, you could create a bootable CD image with
mkisofs and burn it with whatever operating system is installed on the
hard drive. Or, if your PC is capable of booting from USB, you could
try a distribution that installs to a USB drive, such as Slax.
