Archived from groups: alt>os>linux>gentoo (more info?)

Hi ng,

I have some problems booting the Gentoo LiveCD (2008.0). After 'boot:
gentoo' the kernel modules are successfully loaded, until, after setting
the keymap, it searches "attempting to mount media= - /dev/sr0. That it
does twice and this ist was. Landing in a root shell, I have tried to mount
it manually, but it works not. The boot options nodetect and all the stuff
and all the solution offered by google do not work too.
I would like to launch the graphical installer of gentoo. Is this a bug? (In
the gentoo bug list it seems to be so.) And what can I do to get over this
problem?

PC is a notebook (hp pavilion ze4360EA) with Mobile Athlon XP2400+, a little
bit old yet. Wink - And sorry for my 'German' English...

Jens
