Hai,


i have a problem can any one give me solution to this. My aim is to
make a linux image tha can fit into a floppy with minium requirments.

i have compiled the linux Kernel and got The bzimage. After this wha
is the process to do.

so that i can fit linux into a single floppy.

Damn Small Linux(DSL)
Already does it even fits on cell phones and pda's
Download it and use it.

If you have to build bzImage, it's too big for a floppy. You also need
a root file system on the same floppy. So, aim for a zImage of less
than 600K. Forget about 2.6 or 2.4 kernels. Look into 2.2 or even 2.0
kernels.

Depends on what you want to fit onto that single floppy. The kernel is not
the whole of a useful system. Ie the kernel had better be much less than
the size of the floppy so that you can fit things like bash glibc and
various utilities on as well.

Note that the "boot floppy" things are just such distributions.

Hai

I have readu r reply for my question Linux single floppy.

I have compiled linux 2.2 kernel and crerated the image of size less
than 600K.

can u tell me the next procedure to continue by step wise it would be
clear
