Smoothwall and Laplink

Hi, I have smoothwall express 2.0, running and I tried to connect to the
laplink ils server- ils.laplink.com, so that I can find this computer with
another- I don't have static ip addressing with this isp.
Laplink will not connect to the ils server, saying it is unavailable. Also
have a Zyxel prestige adsl router in the mix, but if I take the smoothwall
out and connect the Zyxel directly to my little home lan all works well.
I tried to forward port 1547 to my DHCP assigned IP of this computer in
smoothwall, this computer has a "statip" assigned ip- it always gets the
same one from smoothwall. Laplink says all I need to do is open port 1547.
So... I NATed this port to forward it in the Zyxel to the smoothwall red ip
of 192.168.1.34, and then set smoothwall to forward 1547 to my pc at
192.168.0.201. I did this in the port forwarding section.

1. Am I being foolish to have the Zyxel doing any security, should I just
set this to be a "bridge" and let smoothwall take care of security?

2. Would anyone have any suggestions why smoothwall rejects/ drops packets
from ils.laplink.com. I can't find any mentions of this in any log, but I am
not too hot looking at logs.

In my opinion yes, that way you also can see what is happening because
the smoothwall logs all drops & rejects.

Did you look in the logfiles from smoothwall ? If you try to connect you
should find an entry in the firewall log of the refused connection, that
should give you a clou where to look.
