Kernel question

I have an academic question about RHEL4 AS. My background is in Solaris
and FreeBSD, please bear with me Smile

The scenario is that I have a server with space for four CPUs, but only
two CPUs are installed.

If I add two more CPUs at a later date, do I need to do anything to the
kernel in order for it to see the new CPUs, or will they be detected
automagically?

It's automatic

Slidge,

The same thing with switching on and off of hyperthreading to add to
your knowledge base.

Thanks to both of you. I just got the heads up that I'm the new "Linux
Admin", and since we run Redhat, I guess I'm going to be around here for
awhile Wink
