HI I have Suse 10.2 with installed by default KDE 3.5.5.
Now I've been using it since i've installed it for a few days and i
recognized what i don't like. I have four desktops. Assume I'm on
desktop 1, When I move the cursor down, it would drop into the lower
desktop number 3 and switch the display to desktop 3. I didn't find how i
deactivate it. Does anyone have a clue? I was looking around but could not
find the appropriate option.
Thanks for help!

There's no such option, the only option available is: "Mouse wheel over
desktop background switches desktop" and it is been unchecked.
Thanks for further help!

Right-click------->config desktop----->display---->multi-desktop
Don't remember, but the "display" step may not be needed if the
multi-desktop shows up at the left. Selecting multi-desktop for
me, I see a table for desktops but only the 1st is filled in
with the names of Desktop 1 & Desktop 2. Don't know if one can
actually use different names for whatever reason. |

Right, it does, but how do i deactivate it from there, there is no "mouse
wheel over box" checkbox or something either.
The table shows:
X Coordinate Y Coordinate Width Heigth
Display 1 0 0 1280 1024
Display 2 1280 0 1400 1050
Thanks!

Isn't there a setting at the top right for selecting/entering the number
of desktops? It's at the end of the scrollbar for the "number of
desktops". Change the number to 2 or whatever.
At the bottom, there is a check-box for doing the "selecting desktop
rollover"; I imagine that this refers to the desktop number in the
taskbar.
My table just shows possible entries for up to 20 desktops & not the
coordinates. It looks like your xorg.conf is set for displaying 2
desktops or 2 display terminals.....just reached the limit of
what I know/understand....... |

Ah we got a lil confused there,
The thing i wrote above is in "Display -> Multiple Monitors"
but if i go to "Multiple Desktops" I can have up to 20 Desktops (I have 4)
but there's only a checkbox on the bottom saying: "Mouse wheel over desktop
background switches desktop"(unchecked) there's nothing like "selecting
desktop rollover".
Is there an option in some text file? Any KDE pros?
Thanks anyways!

Hi Ron,
I'm not real sure from your original description, but could this be "Active
borders" in action?
gecko -> Personal Settings -> Desktop -> Window Behavior -> Advanced ->
.... and disable Active Desktop borders
See if that helps.
