Archived from groups: linux>debian>maint>perl (more info?)

I was added to the team today (kitterma-guest on alioth) and was
asked to send a short introduction.

I'm an Ubuntu developer, a DM, in the NM process, and I maintain a
few packages in Debian (mostly Python). In Debian I participate in
the Python teams (modules and applications) and the qt-kde
packaging team. I'm not heavily into Perl but I do most of the Ubuntu
specific maintenance work on amavisd-new, so it's not unusual for me
to need to update a Perl module here and there.

I do believe it's important for Ubuntu developers to feed good
changes back to Debian. In the past I've sent a few patches to the
Perl team via BTS. I'm joining the team now so that I can effectively
deal with IO-Compress merger. Compress-Zlib, IO-Compress-Zlib, IO-
Compress-Bzip2, and IO-Compress-Base got combined into this new
IO-Compress module and I'm packaging it for Ubuntu and will provide
the changes to Debian back via svn.

I'm not currently subscribed to the list, so please CC me on any
replies.

Scott K
