Archived from groups: alt>os>linux>debian (more info?)

Hi!
I downloaded the netinstall image for Debian testing yesterday (20th
of July) for a fresh installation of Debian.

Everything went fine until the first boot, when my root device wasn't
found. The system stalls for a while at the message "Volume group ...
not found" and after a few seconds it prints "Gave up waiting for root
device."

I have tryed unencrypting the device on the BusyBox built-in shell and
that works flawlessly showing the root filesystem in order, which is
why is suspect that something goes wrong when the system tries to
decrypt the harddisk at boot time.

Am I missing something or is this simply a bug? Will it be fixed in
the next daily image or should I try stable/sid (perhaps via the usb-
stick method)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Dinyar
