If you're using KDE then setting your keyboard to be a Dell laptop keyboard in
KControlCenter should be enough to get them all working.

I've got a Dell Inspiron 6400 running Debian Etch.

I use the package hotkeys.

If you use gnome you could config the keys on "System -> Preferences ->
Keyboard Shortcuts"

Also, you can use "hotkeys" (aptitude install hotkeys) and
"hotkey-setup"
