The general rule is to install Windows first. Format your partition to ntfs, leaving disk space of at least 6000MB for Ubuntu.
Install Windows, get it up and running and before you reboot your system, place your Linux disk in CD drive and then reboot. Install Ubuntu as directed, when you get to the partitioner, use the guided partioning method to include your free space. It will pretty much self-install from there.

Good luck.
