I am trying to install FC 6 on a Compaq Presario 5000. It has 128 MB
RAM and hence can take just the text install.
After the install has spent a lot of time on CD 1 and when the install
progress menu shows -
Package: xorg-x11-drivers-7.1-3-i386
Size: 0k
the install asks to insert CD 2.
However after insert CD 2, it reads the CD and then the install just
hangs. The CD cannot be ejected and a power cycle seems to be the only
way out.
I have tried this several times and everytime the install hangs at the
same place. The SHA1SUM of the downloads match exactly with those
specified with the download. The media test performed by the installer
also comes up clean on all the CDs.
Could this have got to do with the insufficient memory ?
