Deleted my log file, now nothing is being logged! Could so..

Hi there, many thanks for reading my post.

I have recently installed smoothwall, and everything was running fine,
however, I managed to install dansguardian addon and after I was done
with testing its proxy capabilities, I deleted the log. Now, since
then, nothing is being logged at all. The firewall/proxy is working.
However, nothing at all is being logged, no new logs are being created.
I assume that by deleting the file , i some how broke the link.

Could someone please lend me a hand?
