Version: 1.1.6-3.1
Severity: normal

$ zgrep -A2 'scripts are installed' /usr/share/doc/debian-policy/policy.txt.gz | cut -c 6-
When scripts are installed into a directory in the system PATH, the
script name should not include an extension such as `.sh' or `.pl'
that denotes the scripting language currently used to implement it.

$ dpkg -L python-imaging | grep '/bin.*[.]'
/usr/bin/pildriver.py
/usr/bin/pilfile.py
/usr/bin/pilfont.py
/usr/bin/pilconvert.py
/usr/bin/pilprint.py
