The current maintainer of cabextract, Eric Sharkey <sharkey RemoveThis @debian.org>,

If you want to be the new maintainer, please see

instructions how to adopt a package properly.

I did, on 2008-12-10 and a follow-up on 2009-03-11. No improvements
for your packages after those 2 contacts.

Isn't it polite to at least send me an email message or something
before determining that I'm not active?

I never received your 2008 message. I responded to your message in
March. (And you responded to my response, so I know you got it.)

There are no serious problems with my packages. I'm continuing to
watch them and will respond if any urgent needs are required.
Upstream is stable and there have been no new releases.

This bug is completely inappropriate.

So can you comment these bugs (only for cabextract):

#528187 - quite easy to fix (it also has a patch); no reply
#451698 - 5 minutes to fix; no reply
#393828 - did you actually forward it upstream? where is the 'forwarded' tag?

> This bug is completely inappropriate.

if you *really* think that, close it with an upload. Else, what you do
is only talking, and we need packages in good shape.

Regards,

What are you, 15 or something?

I know people skills are expected to be low among techie types, but
this is just silly. I honestly don't know what you're trying to
achieve.

So do it! stop talking, start fixing them.

Ok, let's say 2 hours? let's even say 4. Now, the KDE bug was file
2009-05-17, that makes about 6 months ago. You didn't find 4 hours in
6 months? Come on, you must be kidding.

Oh, #451698 was filed in 2007... that must be really really hard to
"make the changes, test the packages" for this bug, right?

>  That's no excuse for having let it go this long,

You're only trying to find excuses, no technical reasons.

If there's someone doing "ridiculous" things, well that's not me for sure....

Did you prod upstream to fix it? I doubt, too complex, right?

Oh sure, why not? you're doing so great up to now!

I did orphan them, what can you infer from it?

Oh dear, I would give a hug and a kiss on the head you'd be here....

Now, when you'd like to stop your blablabla and actually take care of
your packages, we can talk again, if it won't happen... well who cares
