Archived from groups: linux>debian>bugs>dist, others (more info?)

Package: xserver-xorg-video-ati
Version: 1:6.6.3-2
Severity: important

After the last apt-get -t experimental upgrade, the ati driver got updated to 1:6.6.3-5. This started crashing the server on certain actions. Two
that I was able to consistently reproduce were the server hanging after some inactivity (When screen saver would go on to blank the screen), or
trying to play the lbreakout2 game.

I downgraded to 1:6.6.3-2 and now everything works fine.

Could you send to this bug the relevant information, such as your config
and log files, and in case of server crashes a gdb backtrace if possible
(after rebuilding the server and driver with debugging symbols)?

Yet you reported this bug against 1:6.6.3-2. Fixing.

Cheers,
Julien

It might be related to https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9892
which has been reported after 6.6.3 was released and does not occur with
6.6.3 (the 6.6.3-5 ati driver currently in experimental is actually not
6.6.3, the numbering should be 6.6.99foo).
